She is a lifelong learner and knows that there is always something new to learn from other trainers and horses. Her passion is sharing her thirst for learning with other horse enthusiasts. When she is not around the horses she is a teacher at Central York Middle School.

Cindy Merrick

Cindy is Tenderfoot's bookkeeper. She has been riding for a few years and her first horse was Prettybabe. She calls herself an occasional rider but enjoys riding a lot. She is a valuable asset to Tenderfoot. She's very passionate about Tenderfoot and works hard to keep up the book work along with her full time job.

Chelsea Wilkey

English Riding Instructor

Chelsea has been riding and competing since the age of 4 when she became hooked after her mom put her on her 16.2h thoroughbred mare, Mouse. She has since competed in many disciplines over the years but her main focus has been in the hunter and sport horse ring. She has trained under three incredible trainers (Judi and Christi Scott and Clyde Beam) that have mentored and formed her into the rider she is today. She competed on and was President of the Millersville Equestrian Team where she met Lydia. Chelsea currently owns three horses; Lucky, KG and Neville. Lucky and Neville are both Chelsea's hunter mounts, while KG is now retired from the sport horse ring. When she is not with her horses, Chelsea can be found at home with her husband Matt and two beautiful fur babies, Dixie and Koda.

Odessa McCreesh

Western Riding Instructor

Odessa started taking lessons at Tenderfoot back in 2002 on her favorite horse, Patches. She even attended some fun shows on a lesson horse named, Patches where she competed in events like barrel racing and pole bending. Odessa went on to become a program director for the Junior Horsemanship Camp at River Valley Ranch where she became CHA certified for beginner lessons in November of 2011. She taught riding lessons there until she started her family with her husband, Brendon. She is the mother of two beautiful children, Rosella and Hudson.

Scott Merrick

Property/Equipment Manager

Scott makes sure that everything is running smoothly and helps to keep our stable looking beautiful. Scott used to participate in the rodeos on a horse named Nevada, but now he mainly keeps to riding motorcycles and running his own garage. Feel free to see him to get your car repaired, serviced, and inspected. He may even be able to do it while you ride! You will also see other animals around Tenderfoot because he is currently raising chickens, steers, and lambs.

Lori Hall

Barn Assistant

Lori helps out with the daily barn chores on the weekend. She is a HUGE help to giving our staff a break from the workload. She has been a friend/boarder to Tenderfoot for many years and owns two horses, Chance and Vegas. Lori enjoys trail riding and has even dabbled in fun shows. You will also know Lori around the barn as the person that brings the best homemade soup and ice cream to boarder events!

Katie Herbst

Barn Assistant

Katie is a big help around the barn for Lydia during the school year. She schedules appointments with the farrier and helps with the early morning feedings. Before taking her three horses home to her own property, Katie was a boarder at Tenderfoot since she was only 12 years old! She now has a family with three beautiful children and her own little farm.
